Well here goes the third and final part to the review on the first harry Potter book. I hope you enjoyed reading this one because this was my favorite to write so far.

after Halloween with the troll harry, Ron, & Hermione were all still a bit shaken up but harry had his first quidditch game against Slytherin house so, harry was already nervous about that today. if Gryffindor won today’s game they would move up to second place in the house championship. as it gets closer and closer to the game starting. harry gets more and more nervous so Hermione gives him a book that she may or may not have checked out of the library called “quidditch through the ages” it’s supposed to help and give harry all the information that he needs to get through his first game. until professor snape comes across the field and the guilty look on their faces caught his attention as snape walks over to them, he asks to harry “what might you have there potter?” they tell him honestly that it’s the book about quidditch well professor snape decided to confiscate the book.

As harry decided to try to go to the staff lounge to ask Snape if he can get his book back but as he was doing that, he noticed snape had his robe lifted over his one leg and Mr. filch the groundskeeper was cleaning a wound that looked like a giant dog bite. harry tried to shut the door quietly but somehow snape noticed him from the corner of his eye. harry shyly asked if he could get the book back and instead of professor snape giving it to him, he told him to leave. so, harry ran back upstairs to tell Ron and Hermione what he saw in the teachers’ lounge. they knew snape was hiding something, but why would he want to get passed fluffy? what was Dumbledore hiding that snape wanted so badly? all these questions were running through Harry’s mind as he was trying to sleep since he had his first quidditch was in the morning.

the next morning harry and the rest of the Gryffindor house make their way down to the great hall for breakfast before the game but harry was still going on about last night with snape in the teachers’ lounge that he was not hungry. as harry and the rest of the quidditch team made their way to the locker rooms to get changed into their scarlet uniforms Slytherin would be wearing green of course. Oliver wood started to make his before game speech, once the time came for them to enter the field harry followed Fred and George Weasley out, madam hooch was refereeing the game today she spoke saying that she wants a nice clean and fair game today but harry noticed that she was looking at the Slytherin team when she said that. as the game continues something strange starts to happen with Harrys broom it starts to rise higher and higher trying to buck him off Harrys holding on for dear life but Hermione notices something from across the stands, she sees that professor snape had put a course on Harry’s broom trying to make him fall out the sky. so, while Ron and Neville were fighting draco in the stands Hermione made her way towards professor snape bumping into professor Quirrell in the process she set a tiny blue flame to snapes robes to distract him from his curse on Harry’s broom.

fast forward to detention Harry, Hermione, Neville, and draco all have detention with Hagrid for being out of bed after hours. so, while filch is walking them down towards Hagrid’s hut he is trying to scare them, once they arrive at Hagrid’s their detention begins because they will be going into the forbidden forest to look for a wounded unicorn. as they are walking in the forest they split up into 2 groups draco, harry, and fang. and then Hermione, Neville, and Hagrid. well while draco and harry were going down one path they spotted a dead unicorn, but it wasn’t alone it looked like there was something drinking the blood from it. harry stood frozen at the sight of the monster. draco had ran with fang too go find Hagrid and the other two.

the end of the year has approached, and the students were all finishing their final exams but harry was still worried about one thing and that was Voldemort and the stone. so, after the exam with professor McGonagle they go and meet Hagrid because harry has a couple questions he needs to ask him. after they got the answers that they feared they decided they need to go see Dumbledore right away. with their luck though Dumbledore was on his way to see the ministry of magic, so they decided to take it upon themselves to stop snape from getting the stone. so, they make their ways up to the third-floor corridor and realize that they are two late someone has already gotten past fluffy. so before fluffy awakens first harry jumps through the trap door then Ron and then Hermione.

once they get passed the devils snare, they run through the dark tunnel until they reach the second passageway where there are 3 brooms and keys everywhere they just have to find the correct key to open the door. once they get passed the doorway, they are met by a giant chess bored this is Rons expertise. they need to replace 3 chess pieces if they wanted to cross, at the end of them match harry and Hermione continue to the next doorway they are met by a blaze of purple fire behind them and a blaze of black fire in front of them, along with six Viles only 2 will get them through the flames. so, Hermione found out which one was for the purple blaze, and which one was for the black blaze and harry told her to take Ron and go find and send an owl to Dumbledore saying that they need his help immediately.

once harry made it through the last door he was surprised to see that it wasn’t snape on the other side staring in the mirror, but it was professor Quirrell except he wasn’t alone either and he lost his studder. harry was so confused he looked at Quirrell and said, “how could it be you snape was the one who tried to kill me?” Quirrell’s response is what made him question more. snape wasn’t trying to kill him he was trying to save him. harry then notices something a voice coming from professor Quirrell’s turban, so he takes his turban off and there he sees a face that you only see in your nightmares. it was him Voldemort, but he was using Quirrell’s body as a host. Voldemort demanded that Quirrell kill harry but as he tried to put his hands on harry, he started to turn to ash so harry took the advantage until he ended up passing out from the pain from his scar every time, he would get closer and closer to Voldemort it would hurt more.

it’s been 3 days and harry finally has woken up in the hospital wing, Dumbledore by his side, harry jumps up looking at Dumbledore panicking that Voldemort has returned that Quirrell has the stone that they need to do something quick. Dumbledore tries to reassure him that Quirrell is gone, Voldemort now has to find a new host, and the stone has been destroyed. moments later Hermione and Ron come running in grateful to see harry awake. before Dumbledore is to leave, he looks to harry and says i am hoping to see you at the end of year feast tonight. as harry is walking though the great hall to find a seat next to Ron and Hermione Dumbledore rises and with recent events he decided he has a few extra points he would like to add. and with those points they broke Slytherins winning streak and Gryffindor is now the new house cup champions.

this was probably one of my favorites but longest reviews to write but as a huge harry potter fan it was definitely worth it especially since there is so much more detail in the book all i know is now whenever i watch the movie i will always think that there is something missing. so, I hope you would enjoy this book just as much as i did. i give stick with my review and give it a 10/10.
