“Reminders of him”

so, this one I definitely cried a little while reading it at some parts the way Kenna gets treated after so long of trying to redeem herself it is sad especially when all she wants is to just see her child.

the story starts 5 years after the accident and Kenna just got released from prison so she tries to find her way back home so she can find her daughter diam. as soon as she gets into town her first thing is she needs to find an apartment somewhere to live. once Kenna finds her new apartment, she starts walking into town to start applying for jobs. on her walk down the street she runs into what used to be a bookstore was now turned into a bar call “WARDS”.

for 5 years Kenna has been writing letters to scotty her boyfriend who had passed away in the accident she writes them to keep her mind at ease. she eventually gets herself a job at a grocery store as a bagger and tries to make it so she can finally meet her daughter. Kenna finally gets the courage to go to the Landry’s home where her daughter is staying to confront Scotty’s parents after the accident, but little did, she know that the man from the bar the night before lived right across the street and before she knew it she was being dragged in the opposite direction away from her daughter.

now that ledger knows who Kenna is, his opinion on her has changed and he makes it very difficult for her to be able to meet her daughter. slowly over time he finally gets to know who Kenna truly is and that her intentions Arnt to take diam away but to just be able to know who she is since she already missed the first 5 years. ledger starts to fall for Kenna, but Kenna feels guilty because ledger is Scotty’s best friend, but she can’t help that the feelings she has for him are strong. she continues to write her letters to scotty little did Kenna know though that those letters would save her relationship with her daughter.

some time goes by since Kenna came back to town and since her and ledger started their relationship. ledger finally tried to talk to Scotty’s parents about forgiving Kenna that it’s time to move on that keeping her from her daughter i just as brutal and cruel. it took a lot of convincing but somehow, he was able to make it happen. Kenna was fully of happiness and joy. happiness that ledger has never seen in her before. all the patience and time it took Kenna can finally be a part of her daughter’s life and it’s all thanks to ledger.

48 hours…. 48 hours is all it took for me to read this book I couldn’t put it down I was hooked from the first page. it’s definitely a tearjerker but it is such a good story I highly recommend if you plan on seeing the movie when it comes out to read the book first.
